  Moorea, less than twenty miles off the coast of Papeete, Tahiti, has a totally different look and feel than the modernized Papeete.   We enjoyed exploring and photographing Venice. Venice is the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region. Venice was once a world power. Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Venice has no roads, just canals. The Grand Canal is lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces.   Santorini is the one of the most popular Greek destinations. Santorini is a part of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean sea. Santorini was created by a huge volcanic eruption in 17th century B.C. which shaped the caldera. Ships anchor in a deep blue harbor under the homes clinging to the nearly 1000 foot cliffs. Santorini is the prefect location for breathtaking photos. We have enjoyed every visit to Santorini and hope to return again. Quebec is the only fortified city north of Mexico. Enjoy 400 years of history and European charm in the birthplace of French North America. Petit-Champlain is one of the oldest shopping streets in North America. The narrow streets leading to Dufferin Terrace and Château Frontenac are oozing with charm. The fortified walls and ramparts were built between 1608 and 1871.

  We loved our The Napa Valley Wine Train experience. It provides a relaxing, three-hour, thirty-six mile round-trip journey. Enjoy dinner, wine and some of the best sights in Napa Valley aboard antique train cars. View Napa Valley in a fully restored 1915-1917 Pullman Dining Car or 1952 Vista Dome car. Guests travel through five towns - Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, and St. Helena. Napa Valley, California is one of the state's most visited tourist attractions.

  Bus tours like this are a great way to see a lot of sites in a short amount of time. We covered over 1750 miles in five days while getting a taste of Salt Lake City, Jackson, Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Devil’s Tower, Crazy Horse Memorial, Mount Rushmore and more.   People like to say that Cumberland Island is “where nature and history meet.” Cumberland Island is Georgia's largest and southernmost barrier island. It is filled with pristine maritime forests, undeveloped beaches, marshes, unique birds and beautiful free-roaming horses. Natives, missionaries, Revolutionary War heroes, British military personnel, enslaved African Americans and some of the wealthiest Americans in U.S. history all walked this island. We visit every time we are in the area. We love it!

  Steven and Tom Visit VIENNA AUSTRIA. Vienna is the capital of Austria. Musical icons including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms worked in Vienna. It has been called the "City of Dreams" because it was the home of the world's first psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. Ornate is the key word for Vienna architecture.   Steven and Tom Visit St Petersburg, Russia Our fabulous St Petersburg visit included Peterhof Palace, Catherine’s Palace, Peter and Paul Fortress, St Isaac’s Cathedral, Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood, Yusupov Palace and the world famous Hermitage museum.

  Papeete is a very modern city. Because we prefer a small group experience, we chose a private tour by William Leeteg of Adventure Eagle Tours. William took us on a relaxed drive to visit the Gauguin Museum, Venus Point , Fern Grotto, Blow Hole, Lookout Panoramic view and the Great Waterfall.   Steven and Tom Visit Bari, Italy Bari, Italy is a port on the Adriatic Sea. The Romans called it Barium. Bari's old city holds a 12th-century Romanesque cathedral, a Norman castle, and the Basilica of San Nicola which houses the relics of their patron saint. The people of Bari literally invaded Turkey to steal the bodily remains of Saint Nicholas. Bari has been inhabited since 1500 B.C.by Greeks, Romans, Saracens, Normand and Italians.   KRAMPUS - The history, facts and myths of the punisher of the naughty. Just as Santa Claus comes at Christmas, his polar opposite Krampus comes on Krampusnacht. In some cultures, St. Nicholas and Krampus work as a team. St. Nicholas rewards good children, while Krampus punishes naughty ones. Krampus dates to pre-Christian pagan mythology but was forbidden by the Catholic Church in the twelfth century. Krampusnacht is celebrated worldwide today. Sunny Harbor Publishing.

Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities with a recorded history of 3.400 years. The Acropolis was built during 5th century BC. The Acropolis is a cultural UNESCO World Heritage site.   Steven and Tom Visit Pisa Italy The origin of the name Pisa comes from Etruscan and means mouth. Pisa is known for its art and architectural treasures. Pisa has a remarkable group of buildings in the Piazza del Duomo called the Square of Miracles. The piazza contains the Duomo, the baptistery, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the camposanto cemetery.   Steven and Tom Visit Corfu Greece Corfu Greece is one of the most beautiful of the Ionian islands. Corfu Town was influenced by the Venetians, French and the English. The narrow cobblestone alleys are called kandounia. The beaches in sandy coves, surrounded by green forests and mountains are some of the most beautiful in Greece.   Steven and Tom Visit Rouen France Rouen is a port city on the river Seine. We visited the cobblestoned pedestrian center with medieval half-timbered houses. Joan of Arc was burned to death here for leading the French against the English. Victor Hugo famously described Rouen as the city of a hundred spires. The Gros Horloge clock is located on an arch between two buildings. Notre Dame of Rouen Cathedral was begun in the 1100s. Its spire reaches 495 feet.   Steven and Tom Visit Gothenburg Sweden. Gothenburg was founded in 1621 by King Gustav II Adolf. Gothenburg has about 260 trams. Jimi Hendrix was a fan of Gothenburg’s Liseberg amusement park and returned many times. We explored Gothenburg canals by boat you can easily enjoy the city on foot, tram or bike.

  Luray Caverns are the largest caverns in the eastern United States. We strolled lighted, paved walkways through 10-story high cathedral-sized rooms, towering stone formations, and natural wonders. Luray Caverns is open every day of the year. All formations in the caverns are calcite, a crystalline form of limestone.The National Park Service and the Department of Interior designated it a Registered Natural Landmark.   Steven and Tom Visit Fort Christmas. Fort Christmas is located in Christmas, Florida. The original fort was begun in 1837 after white settlers tried to take back land Native Americans had been granted in a treaty. The fort houses an exhibit about the Seminole Indian War. The twenty-five acre park is has no admission charge. The park also has restored historical homes from 1870-1930, historical farm equipment, a school. There are pavilions, a playground and a tennis court too.
